Hummingbirds Urban Farming Collective was created by Malaika Parker; a mom, educator, and racial justice advocate. Malaika wanted to create spaces where families and community groups could gather and explore the richness of African Diasporic traditions of being stewards of land. Through her personal journey of informal agricultural education Malaika began to learn things about Black History and Black Survival that are left out of the text books, these stories of strength power and resistance are the driving force behind the work that Hummingbirds Urban Farming Collective is up to.
